NOTE:
I sent this today to a list of [SIC] Subscribers who Substack metrics indicate have not opened or interacted with my weekly Thursday notes in the last 30 days.
I am posting it here as a failsafe, and so I can re-post as a note.
If you did not receive this email (at approximately 4:10pm Eastern Time), you should not be effected. Feel free to check your spam folder to be certain, too.
And if you think you received it for a particular reason (IE ‘My email client strips out tracking) Please let me know in the comments or via direct email.
Many thanks!

Hi there,
If you’re receiving this, you’re a free subscriber to [SIC] Weekly who joined the list prior to May 31st, 2024, and who Substack’s metrics register as having zero opens and no activity in the last 30 days.
This may mean you took August off. It may mean you review [SIC] in your email client and that doesn’t register as an ‘open'. It may mean that this email addy is no longer active. Or it may mean that you aren’t finding this digest interesting or useful - all of these are totally OK.
BUT - for the launch of [SIC] Volume 7 and a bunch of new features, I am undertaking my annual purge of subscribers who are not using the digest, so that I have a better sense of who actually is.
You are currently on the purge list. I will cut this email from the [SIC] distro on Thursday (Sept 5th, 2024 ) in advance of Vol. 7’s launch.
Staying subscribed is easy. Open this email: boom, you have shown activity. OR if you feel like you’ve gotten this message in error, email me at ben.dietz (at) gmail and let me know you want to stay on the list. [NOTE: the ‘reply’ function on the email may not work, so pls email me directly].
To be clear - I want you to stay. But I don’t want to be shouting into the void, or gunking up your inbox with stuff you don’t find useful. You can also unsubscribe yourself now if you like.
Totally up to you - no harm, no foul. I really appreciate your having been a part of the [SIC] community. And if the time is ever right again, you know where to find the digest.
Any questions, don’t hesitate.
Ben
